Full details

The producers of the 98th Academy Awards, scheduled for March 15, 2025, have confirmed the inclusion of special artistic moments honoring the films "The Sinners" and "K-Pop Demon Hunters," which are considered among the most popular films of 2025, according to an exclusive report by The Hollywood Reporter.

Producers Raj Kapoor and Katie Mullan stated that the musical performances at the ceremony are inspired by these two films, which have had a broad cultural impact. These moments will go beyond mere musical performances to become a cinematic tribute celebrating the relationship between music and storytelling, highlighting why audiences connect deeply with these works.

The "K-Pop Demon Hunters" segment will feature a fusion of traditional Korean music and dance, showcasing the folklore and cultural inspiration behind the animated film, which has become the most-watched original film on Netflix. Additionally, there will be a performance of the film's Oscar-nominated song "Golden," performed by the fictional band HUNTR/X members: EJAE, AUDREY NUNA, and REI AMI.

Meanwhile, the "The Sinners" segment will focus on the role of music in the film's narrative, featuring a performance of the Oscar-nominated song "I Lied to You," led by Miles Caton and Raphael Sadik. The performance will include blues legends Buddy Guy and Bobby Rush, ballet dancer Misty Copeland, rapper Shaboozy, musicians Alice Smith, Eric Gales, Brittany Howard, and Kriston "Kingfish" Ingram, alongside actresses Jamie Lawson and Lee June Lee.

The producers also revealed that the ceremony, hosted by Conan O'Brien, will include separate performances by Josh Groban and the Los Angeles Master Chorale. These are expected to be part of the "In Memoriam" segment honoring recently deceased cinema icons such as Diane Keaton, Robert Redford, Brigitte Bardot, Robert Duvall, and Catherine O'Hara.
