Macro and the cultural leadership fund Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) have announced the selection of seven directors to participate in the first cycle of the Epigraph Creator Fellowship, aimed at empowering creators who have shaped culture with direct access to cutting-edge storytelling technology tools.
The fellowship, the first of its kind, offers participants advanced artificial intelligence tools provided by partners such as OpenAI, ElevenLabs, Gamma, Promise Studios, Descript, Coactive, and Curious Refuge, along with tailored training to integrate these tools into the creative process.
Participating Directors and Their Works
The inaugural fellowship includes Bianca Lambert, Chazeter Martin, John Bour, Justus Whitaker, Nick Barile, Suleiman Taher, and Tedra Wilson. Their projects have been showcased and recognized at prestigious festivals such as the Tribeca Film Festival, the American Black Film Festival, Slamdance, Essence Festival, as well as on streaming platforms including Amazon Prime, HBO Max, Paramount+, and Netflix.
Fellowship Program and Objectives
Over the course of eight weeks, participants will receive hands-on training and production resources, culminating in a public showcase of original works at Macro's Summer Creators Summit in Los Angeles next summer.
Stacey Walker King, Chief Brand Officer at Macro, stated, "Creators are the ones who lead culture and set its direction, and the Epigraph Fellowship equips them with modern technology tools to freely develop their creative worlds."
Joudine Small Jean-Louis, partner at a16z, added, "The fellowship brings creators and technologists together in one place, fostering collaboration and transforming the way technology intersects with culture."
